At the Namgyal Lhatse Tawang Monastery in Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh, India), my friend Angad Singh sought guidance from me on how to make impressionable pictures of momentary encounters with unknown subjects.
So here is how I went about making this series.
1) Select a theme – I chose to focus on people dressed in red. Hence this series is titled “Men in Red”.
2) Turn a momentary encounter into a partnership – Toughest part in making powerful pictures with unknown subjects is to know how to break the ice.
3) Leverage off-camera flash – Once the ice is broken, you then go about composing.
