Associating only with the conscious mind, we limit ourselves. It is just the tip of iceberg. The true horse power lies in the sub-conscious.
The fishermen at Inle lake in Myanmar have a unique fishing style that is one of a kind in the world. Only one fisherman will be found on a boat and is always standing at the edge, somehow achieving the perfect balance. It’s impressive that they row only with their legs, keeping their hands free to manage the finishing nets, which they cast and pull with ease while rowing at high speed.
Their conscious mind may be fixated on spotting a school of fish and casting the net to catch them. However it’s the quantum of tasks being performed by the sub-conscious that is worth noting. The sub-conscious is making them balance the boat, row with their legs and meander through the lake.
Watching them was a moment of reflection that took me on an inward journey!

August 12, 2014 at 1:39 AMConscious level of our mind perhaps deals with the real visible world. The sub-conscious mind deals with the more deep aspect of the visible world. It takes account of the ‘ possibility ‘ , ‘ potentiality ‘, uncertainty ‘ that is hidden . It is more prudent more calculating than the conscious mind. Often it gives the signal for the wanted or unwanted. The human activity depends upon the understanding of these ” two ‘. When there is true understanding the action becomes more fruitful.
Amardeep’s photo-feature is an example of this harmony. His conscious mind see the ” visible ” , his sub-conscious mind discover the ” truth” and ‘ beauty ‘ in what is seen. The harmony of the two within him makes his photo- feature worthy to see and rich in content. Thus it can touch our soul and is able to stir thought within us.

August 12, 2014 at 11:31 AMYes, I agree, it is the sub conscious which silently directs our actions, and behavior, many of which cannot be explained. It is here, in the subconscious, probably where our past deeds or Karma resides, which controls us.

August 16, 2014 at 12:47 AMBesides bringing out the intricate professional nitty-grittis of a Mynmaar fisherman, the storyline focuses on the role of conscious and unconscious mind and the role it plays in a human activity.Conscious of surroundings transforms into an unconconsciousness and focuses on the fully conscious activity of the purpose(the objective).Similarity could be mother besides a cradle.Photoshoot is great!!!
