Citadel, the Imperial city at Hue, in Vietnam was built in June 1802 by Nguyen Phuc Anh, who took control of Vietnam and proclaimed himself Emperor Gia Long.

The American bombings of Vietnam  in 1968 in response to a communist takeover of Hue, flattened the Citadel.

During my visit to Central Vietnam, I visited the Citadel.
